For most of my life, coffee was just… coffee.
Convenience store cups.
Pods in the machine.
Add cream and sugar, get on with the day.
That was my normal.
Then one afternoon, a friend invited me to a café.
I walked in and noticed someone making coffee with this strange setup.
A pour-over.
Slow circles of hot water, steam rising, the smell filling the room.
I was curious.
So I ordered one.
The barista handed me a cup.
I took a sip… and froze.
Strawberries.
Not fake flavoring. Not syrup.
Real, fresh, juicy strawberry jam — in a cup of coffee.
I actually asked if they’d added anything.
“Nope,” the barista said. “That’s just how this coffee tastes.”
My mind was blown.
In that moment, coffee stopped being a morning routine.
It became an adventure.
A discovery.
A craft I couldn’t get enough of.
I dove into brewing recipes.
Bought a kettle, scale, and a V60 dripper.
I tried different beans from different countries and regions.
I experimented with water temperature, and flow rate.
I couldn't help but share my exotic coffees with friends and watch their eyes light up just like mine had.
It was a joyous journey of tasting new flavors and exploring all that coffee had to offer.
That single sip set me on the path to where I am today.
Joylight Coffee was born out of that moment.
Because if coffee could change my life with a single cup…
I want to share that same wonder with you.
One sip.
One cup.
One brighter day.
