The origin of Joylight
Joylight began in Topeka, Kansas in 2022, when Jack started roasting coffee in his basement late into the midnight hours—from the start it was a side hustle fueled by curiosity, passion, and a love for sharing good things with others. What started as a simple idea has grown into a full-time craft and calling. Today, Joylight exists to bring that same joy to others through freshly roasted, thoughtfully sourced coffee. In the same way coffee fuels our passion to roast you delicious, unique coffee offerings, we hope it energizes you to do what you enjoy with those you love. Around here, we say "coffee makes for brighter days"—and we mean it.

Our coffee offerings are uniquely processed from a wide variety of origins so that you can enjoy flavors you never knew coffee could offer. Because coffee is a crop and varies each season, we make sure every batch is freshly roasted to it's fullest potential.

Every coffee has a story long before it reaches our roaster. Where it was grown, who produced it, the variety, and the processing method all shape its flavor. Our job isn't to cover those characteristics with heavy roast flavors. It's to highlight what makes each coffee unique. We roast with intention so you can taste the origin, the producer's work, and the care that went into every bean.

We're building direct relationships with the farmers behind our coffee, partnerships meant to last for years. Where we source directly, that means fair, living wages and a shared commitment to growing coffee the right way, and we're working to extend those relationships across everything we buy. When farmers thrive, so does the coffee.
