ABOUT FINCA RIO NEGRO
Finca Rio Negro is a coffee farm based in Huila, Colombia, led by Félix Alberto Torres Morantes. Their coffees showcase the incredible variety that can come from Colombia’s high-altitude growing regions, with a focus on carefully selected varieties and experimental processing.
This lot is a Pink Bourbon, one of Colombia’s most exciting and sought-after varieties. Grown between 1,670 and 1,830 meters above sea level in Río Negro, this coffee takes Pink Bourbon in a particularly expressive direction through an experimental Láctico process.
Lactic processing uses fermentation to build a creamy, yogurt-like character in the cup while allowing the natural fruit and floral qualities of the coffee to shine. In this lot, that creates a cup that feels both vibrant and silky, with sweet fruit character balanced by a soft, creamy acidity.
The result is a beautifully expressive Pink Bourbon with layers of juicy fruit, delicate florals, and a creamy mouthfeel. It’s the kind of coffee that rewards a slower brew and gives you something new to discover as it cools.
