ABOUT EDINSON ARGOTE
Edinson Argote’s journey into coffee is nothing short of remarkable. Orphaned at the age of three, he was raised by his sister before leaving home at just eleven years old to support himself. For years he worked odd jobs until he could join the Colombian army at eighteen. After leaving the military at twenty, Edinson began working at his cousin’s coffee buying station in Acevedo, Colombia. It was there that his curiosity about coffee began to grow and his passion for the craft was born.

In 2018, Edinson and his girlfriend Luz Angela took a loan from her father to purchase La Quebradita, a beautiful coffee farm in Timaná, Huila. Today the farm has become a hub for experimentation and innovation, where Edinson works to produce specialty coffees with unique and repeatable flavor profiles. From fermentation experiments to soil care, his goal is to continually push the boundaries of what coffee can be.

This Chiroso lot is a great example of that pursuit. After harvest, ripe cherries undergo a 72-hour natural fermentation before partial drying on raised beds. The coffee is then rehydrated and fermented again with a proprietary beer and wine yeast before finishing its drying process. The result is an incredibly expressive cup bursting with tropical intensity. Expect vibrant notes of mango, cherry, and pineapple with candy-like sweetness and a touch of funky natural complexity that makes this coffee unforgettable.
