Geisha is one of the rarest coffee varietals in the world. It traces back to the Gori Gesha forest in Ethiopia, and it became famous in 2004, when a Geisha from Panama stunned judges with a cup that tasted more like jasmine tea and tropical fruit than coffee. It’s been breaking auction records ever since. But it’s not easy to grow. Geisha plants give low yields, need high altitude, and take a lot of care, so there’s never much of it to go around.
Jorge Rojas grows his Geisha on a small farm in Planadas, Tolima, at around 2,000 meters. As a perennial Cup of Excellence finalist, Jorge approaches every harvest with meticulous care and precision. He farms beyond organic, making his own fertilizers and protecting the soil and water around his land. That attention shows up in the cup.
Each 100g hand-numbered tin comes with an info card for the coffee and walks you through how we like to brew it.
